Hethrow Square

Hethrow Square is a small mall in Lowtown and currently frequented by a small gang led by the mysterious EJ Smith. The Square is located under Hethrow Plaza in the middle of Lowtown. The entire plaza is underground to try and make it special and attractive for people to live near and is therefore well known by the population of Hidden Cove and frequented by homeless people looking for a place to sleep. The authorities have stopped trying to push them out of the area after a shoot out with the gang that has claimed the area for themselves by now. Nobody understands why a gang would like to protect some bums with no money. No Kindred involvement seems obvious though.

The Square is accessable by four large entrances on the North, East, South and West side which come above ground at the four corners of Hethrow Plaza. The underground area of the Square is mostly a large open spaces with pillars each 20 feet for support of the roof. The Square has a couple of shops that all stay open to 1 am to accomidate the visitors of the theater. The most important ones are:

Route 66:is a shop that specializes in leather clothing, especially to be used by bikers. A large variety of leather jackets, pants and boots can be bought here together with anything else a respectable biker will need. The shop owner Brick also has a small back room where he sells the more illegal stuff that can be useful. Things like heavy chains, knuckle-dusters, spiked 2x4's and heavy baseball bats can be bought there for a reasonable price. This is the only shop on Hethrow Square that is open until 1 am.

Little Tokyo: is a cheap electronics shop. Anyone can get new, second hand and illegally won electronical equipment for a reasonable price. This shop closes around 10 pm each night, according to the sign outside. Although anyone can knock on the door in the middle of the night if they need anything, it is not sure if the shop owner will be happy to help you though.

Achmed's General Store: is, as the name says, a general store like any other. A medium sized shop that sells a wide variety of merchendise and is also known to buy things they are interested in. Nothing much is to be said next to that. It is your typical little General Store, owned and manned by a large arabic family that can hardly speak a word english unless it has something to do with buying or selling and is open all night.

Old Yeller's beer bar: is the only bar on Hethrow Square and is the place EJ's gang most often frequents. It mostly sells beer of any kind. From local beers to exotic beers from all over the world. This is the kind of bar normal people would rather not be in too long, and for good reason.

Odeon Cinema: It is exactly what it says it is. It has three small theaters and one large theater. It mostly shows the newest movies during the evening and goes on all night showing old movies and requests for anyone that wants to stay up all night. It has recently been renovated and therefore has a new, modern look and one of the best sound and image quality in the entire country. Although the gang that frequents the area is a lot of trouble for the cops they leave the visitors of The Cinema, and therefore most visitors of the Square allone. This is probably because EJ Smith owns half the cinema and is responisble for its recent renovation.

(All above information is available to anyone that is looking for it, the next is all OOC information only unless for EJ himself)

During the renovation the most important change to the cinema was the adding of a living space. This has never been officially reported and the entrance to the area is well hidden in the maintenance area of The Cinema. The way to get in from entering The Cinema from the main entrance is the following:

- go left, past the desk and into the office

- use the first key on the chair to enter the secret entrance into a closet in the maintenance area

- get out of the closet and go right, follow the maintenance hallway past theater 2 and 3 until the hallway goes right again

- use the second key on a pipe going down the east wall and enter the entrance that opens.

- walk into the small hallway and open the door with the third key, and enter the haven of EJ Smith.

The haven is a medium sized home with a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and a study. It is filled with simple, yet stylish furniture matching that of the Cinema itself. Functionality is obviously more important then beauty for the owner of this room.
