Sonic Records

Serving the public since 1968, Sonic Records is a fully equipped four-studio complex providing professional recording services. Located in Hidden Cove, thirty minutes north of the International Airport, this state of the art recording studio has hosted many of today's top artists, producers and engineers.

  

STUDIO A- Neve VR-60 with Flying Faders and Total Recall

Studio A is an outstanding 32-track (56 track interlock) recording facility for the serious musician, producer or audio/video professional. Designed primarily for live instrumental and vocal production, the studio is 50'X40' with 20' ceilings and handles ensembles of all sizes and styles; jazz trios to 100-piece orchestras to heavy metal bands with acoustic excellence. Studio A is equipped with a 60 input Neve VR Console custom built with 4 sterio mix busses, enabling mixed in all of the stereo and surround formats. It also features a Steinway Model B grand piano, as well as 10'X16' and 10'X8' isolation rooms with a very large, comfortable control room.

STUDIO B- SSL 4048E/G Console with Total Recall 

  

Studio B is a superior studio designed for live recording of moderate sized instrumental or vocal groups as well as overdub tracking. It is equipped for 24-track recording and audio/video interlock, and can be connected with the other three studios to accommodate sessions with special requirements. This 27'X24' studio has 12' ceilings, 8'X8' isolation booth and a 6' Kawai grand piano.

 

 STUDIO C- API 2488 Console

Studio C serves as a 24-track music studio and as a vocal narration/radio and advertising production center. The 20'X20' studio featurs 8' ceilings and unique wall panels which alter the studio's acoustical characteristics from "soft" to"bright". It can be interconnected with the other three studios upon request.

STUDIO D- MIDI Suite 

  

Studio D is dedicated to digital mastering, and digital or analog editing; radio, television, and advertising production. The studio is equipped with the Sonic Solutions digital editing/mastering system, a variety of tape formats, extensive music/SFX libraries, professional turn-tables, cueing CD players, and 3/4" video.

Hidden Cove University's Music and Media Department has utilized these facilities since 1977 to prepare its students for the real world through instruction in the operation of recording studio, audio production and sound reinforcement equipment. In addition, Music Buisness curriculum is offered with the objective of preparing students for careers in the field of artist management. Our philosophy is to graduate students who exhibit the same standard of performance that has sustained Sonic Records' distinct position in the industry for so many years.
